The Big Moment

The glorious moment for Chin Haw and Wendy has finally arrived, after all the anticipation that I have blogged here, here and here!! I just got back from the church ceremony. Won't be able to get much rest though, since I'll be out again by 5pm or so to the dinner venue.

Anyway, to those who weren't with us throughout the morning, here's just a short update. The 'heng dai's (yes, me included. Hehe..) gathered at Chin Haw's place before 7am. After all the hustle & bustle of writing a card, writing down the names on the heart-shaped papers that are to be stuck by the car windscreen, tying the ribbons on the car antennas, etc, the whole convoy departed for Wendy's place. That was about 7.30am.

Once there, the 'chi mui's of course, had to block us from entering. "Punishments" were given, like making Chin Haw shout "Wendy, will you marry me?" 2 floors down from where she was "hidden". There were also the eating/drinking part which includes something sweet, something bitter, something sour and something spicy. There is a meaning behind all these. The something sweet was honey 'pau's, something bitter was beer, something sour was super soury yoghurt and something spicy was peas coated with wasabi. The 'heng dai's had to be macho to help Chin Haw finish them all up lar. Finally, they let us in, but before entering Wendy's room, Chin Haw had to sing her favourite song. Hehe..

Then was the tea ceremony for Wendy's side. Ding dong, ding dong, and managed to look through the wedding album. ;) The whole convoy left by 10am and headed straight to Wesley Church.

When I first saw the car decorations at Chin Haw's place, I was overwhelmed. They used sunflowers. We only use that as our trademark (hence, we're the Sunflower House), just among the 6 of us. We even bought them a photo album with sunflower designs on the cover (which we will fill the album up with loads of photos). I don't know how to describe what I felt, but, I just felt honoured. Honoured that we mean a lot to them. *sniff*

It was a lovely, lovely ceremony. I felt so blessed to watch one of my 'heng dai's tie the knot. They deserve each other. Throughout the 8 years, I've seen how strong their love is for each other, especially the long-distance part they both went through when we were in Sheffield for 2 years. They're just a perfect couple in any other way! We didn't manage to take a complete Sunflower House family photo, coz Tai Lou and Shirley had to leave after the reception. And because we need loads of pictures for the photo album, we had to make do without them in the pictures..

Anyway, will update again some time later tonight after the dinner ceremony. See ya!
